App closes when screen turns off

App closes when the screen turns off or if I turn it off. It dosent close the app completely. I dont mind it at first, but it's becoming frequent and its annoying going back to the app everytime the screen turns off. Did this happen to anyone?

I opened an app (Gallery) and then locked the screen. After a while I unlocked it and the app was still open.

Are those the correct steps to check that issue?
