Solved: Thunderbolt Stops Charging Laptop?

SAMSUNG LC34J791WTPXXU, charges my laptop via the thunderbolt lead when display is on but stops charging when the display is off so I come back to a dead laptop?

the display is plugged into the mains and always switched on, there must be a way to ensure the laptop is charged up even if the monitor display is off?

I use the M70A 32 and 43" they are USB-C but with Power delivery, my Book2 Pro takes along while to run flat on standby if I hibernate when not in use, best to Google some Power tips, I did found Edge was the main culprit.

I will double check but certain mine M70A monitor does charge when the screen is off, as I protect to 85%, even if I leave it for an hour upon return its still 85%.

Do you mean USB C cable? Samsung doesn't support thunderbolt

The charging will always stop when screen sleeps, not really designed to charge your laptop via the monitor, best you can do is try extend or turn off the sleep mode on your laptop and monitor
