The cable just doesn't hold. I have several T5's and T7's but the T7 Shield......... Enough said.

Is this a fault, does anyone else have this issue ? Any quick solutions apart from glueing the plug into the socket ?

Same here - I thought it was just me until I fount this topic.  Ive only ever used the leads that came with the disc. Other samsung discs are fine. Just the Shield. Do Samsung suggest anything? I dont think so. Infuriating as it comes unplugged even by itself!

Im going to give it a one star on Trustpilot!

Same. I have three non-Shields externals, two T7s and a T9, and three Shields purchased at various times from various vendors between March 2023 and Nov 2023. The Shields all exhibit this frustrating flaw.  I know, why buy more :smiling-face: ?  They would go on sale and I'd think surely they've been fixed.  Even sitting flat on the desk the cable will eventually come out, and if you plop something on the desk it will immediately unattach.  There is no chance at all of using them for 3 minutes on your lap, on a plane, etc. No chance.  The others have no such problem and have been bulletproof. This has been ongoing. I have not contacted Samsung as I have seen users posting about this for years with no acknowledgment that I could find up to early this year when I last checked. Very discouraging.

I have exactly the same issue - I bought second-hand so no return for me, although it looks like that wouldn't have helped anyway. Wishing I had a 3D printer to make some sort of holder to keep the cable in

  • Shuffling around with different leads managed to find one that stayed in firmly. So is it a lead problem? Or combination of lead and socket? No other USB C device I own has this problem.
