If Samsung Magician update 7.1.1 was supposed to solve the "scanning for drives" issue then you just moved the problem to other users.
There is a "Samsung Magician Update 7.1.0 broken" topic where people experienced "scanning for drives" forever. I just upgraded from a working 7.1.0 to 7.1.1 and suddenly I got the same problem as the previous topic. I had to downgrade to 7.1.0 to solve my issue.
I've got 4 samsung SSD drives in total, two 980PRO NVMe, one 950PRO SATA and one 950EVO SATA using an ASUS ROG Crosshair VIII Dark Hero motherboard.
Found another thread about this after creating this thread: https://eu.community.samsung.com/t5/computers-it/samsung-magician-new-update-available/td-p/5386181

That is not the same. Here we are talking about issues with the latest 2 versions of the program. v7.1.0 and 7.1.1. after installing.
And like I mentioned, I went back to v7.0.1. That one runs like it should.

Same here: updated to 7.1.1, went from system just fine to "Scanning for drives" forever.

I'm IT Admin. I have planty of HP desktops with Intel andAMD chipset with 7.1.x version problem which hangs after upgrade. So actually I downgraded all versions of Magician to 7.0.1.630 version. Here you go the official repository link to this working version
