Samsung Magician Secure Erase: Keyboard cannot be used

When I create a USB boot disk for Secure Erase using Samsung Magician 7.0.1 and boot using it, my keyboard is not active, and I am unable to proceed after being asked to accept the initial disclaimer. I have tried several settings related to legacy USB support etc, but none of them have had any effect.

Help would be appreciated. I am also willing to try alternative secure disk erase methods, as long as they will work to enable the Encrypted Drive option, and don't actually overwrites the whole disk (which causes additional wear on the drive).

Look in your system's UEFI (replacement for old BIOS screens) and see if secure erase or SSD erase is an option in there. My MSI boards can do it for my drives. They use the drive's firmware method to secure erase (takes a couple of seconds) instead of writing zeros to the drive sectors.
