Samsung Magician can't see my drives in Windows Storage Spaces pool

I have 8 SSDs in a Storage Spaces pool and want to check for firmware update, but Magician can't see them, I'm assuming because they're wrapped up in the pool. It sees it as a single unsupportable drive. So I haven't updated firmware since I bought these over two years ago because of this. Do I have any options other than nuking the pool, updating firmware, then restoring data to a newly created pool? I've also tried converting it to a dynamic disk, which I didn't want to do, and that didn't help.

If the drives are working properly forget about flashing firmware. The reason being that flashing the firmware can erase the drives anyway so you would need to rebuild the dataset regardless. If however you are insistent there may be an alternative route using lvfs through Linux bootable media (Ubuntu or Fedora Workstation)
