Computers & ITHiya,
How are y'all doing !? Still alive? Hope so.. maybe someone could help me. I've got a serious issue with my 840 PRO SSD and don't really know what to do with it since I have some important data which I would prefer to take back.
So the story is like this..
I went away in another country for the past year and my ssd at home all of a sudden didnt boot or appear in bios. I didnt had any problems with it at all in the past and when i left it was working without issues. I've read online if they stay a long time without power they will brick and i need to do a "power cycle" on it to make it work again.
But how exactly i do that? I had the ssd shipped from home to me but i dont have any other pc, just a laptop and an external enclosure via usb3.0 (without external power adapter at the wall).
If i connect the ssd via usb to the laptop it takes a very long time for the laptop to start/go to bios because it is looking for the drive in the enclosure but what ive read online i need only to power the ssd not also fetch data from it.
If i would to get an enlosure that has external power a/c and use that without connecting to usb/just powering the device inside.. Will the "power cycle" work ?
Any help would be very much appreaciated.
