What you tend to find in reviews, forums and likewise... is that users generally only leave reviews or create forum posts when there is a problem to resolve. What this means often is that it can seem the quantity of issues and errors you stumble across can paint quite a pessimistic view of a product.
The reality is that a very small percentage have suffered this issue, out of many hundred thousands, or even millions of products.
I suspect that those with these issues were either very unlucky, or perhaps slightly mis-handled the product.
Personally I dont get too put off by such reviews as they are in such a low quantity. The accidental damage policy that you have taken will cover all eventualities, although you should find the standard warranty will cover most issues so long as there is no sign of the device being dropped / mis used.
Just enjoy your new device, and generally if you treat it with respect I suggest you wont have any problems. Just remember that 'glass is glass' and handle it appropriately.
