Hello.  I have recently bought and set up a Galaxy Book Pro Laptop - very impressed so far. Loading of programs and Transfer Data problem free.

Except for 1 thing - how do I play or even copy DVD's ?  I have a Samsung Slim External DVD writer SE-S084 (a few years old now) that I used to use with a Windows 7 PC - but this doesn't want to work now and I cannot find any Drivers on ther Interweb that will help.

Main reason - I have some DVD's that I am going to dispose of but would quite like to record for posterity.  Is the answer a new up-to-date external DVD writer ?  Is there one compatible with the Samsung Book Pro ? I should mention that I do have VLC Media Player installed, and have had a recent issue with Audio on an existing recording ..........

Any advice or helpout there would be gratefully received.

I use VLC Player to watch commercial DVDs, you may need to change the audio output in preferences. experiment with each setting and you may find a better one that plays all your media fine instead of the default 'auto' selected method.

For DVD burning tasks, ripping, etc. try ashampoo burning studio free edition.
