Been on to support today about the fingerprint sensor on my new Book2. Looks like there's a driver or Windows issue at the moment? The sensor just stops working. Twice we removed and reinstalled the driver and it worked for a short time then stopped again.
Hopefully, a fix will sort this out soon. Started happening after a Windows update yesterday for me, not sure if related.
Loving the Book2 otherwise so far.

I am frustrated, I bought the device (at a premium price compared to the market's other options) and I have invested so many hours to fix this problem to one of its major selling features. Any advise kindly appreciated.

Has anyone else noticed that their Windows Biometric Scanner service doesn't restart automatically when waking from sleep or quickboot? (Mine says running, because I just forced it to run) it only happens every so often. I was rebinding my fingerprint to get it to work at first, but now I just restart the service and I'm good for a couple days. THE WEIRDEST PART, if i fully shutdown the computer while the service is off it's like it forgets my fingerprint when I turn the machine back on and then I have to rebind my fingerprint. I might try coding up a script to turn it on, on failed login attempt.

Going to copy and paste this to multiple people, because I dealt with this a few days ago and solved it. Samsung has a webpage dedicated to it as well.
"
I'm not entirely sure which step resolved the issues, but im going to link you to all the things I did.
First: search - Device manager>> biometrics>> my fingerprint driver>> power management tab>> uncheck the "allow computer to turn off device".
Second: https://www.samsung.com/hk_en/support/computing/fingerprint-sensor-does-not-work-after-updating-wind...
Third: I removed my PIN, fingerprints and "microsoft accounts" that appeared in the email/accounts option (I believe)
I restarted a few times, and eventually I was able to re-enable the finger print, which then prompted me to create a pin again.
So I think it's some combination of Step #2 and #3"

This was how I fixed it. The fingerprint sensor has worked without issues ever since.
Go to Settings --> Accounts --> Sign-in Options -->
If you previously set up Fingerprint Recognition, remove it (if not previously set, skip this step):
> Fingerprint Recognition (Windows Hello): Click "Remove" (Fingerprint Recognition); enter your account password if prompted.
Now go to PIN
> PIN (Windows Hello): Click "Remove" (PIN); enter your account password when prompted.
> PIN: Now set up the PIN all over again.
Then go to:
> Fingerprint Recognition (Windows Hello) and set that up.
