Samsung Electronics has won a record 71 awards at the International Forum (iF) Design Awards 2021, including two Gold Awards. Thirty-six of the awards are for Product design, eleven for Communication Design, ten for Professional Concepts, five for Packaging Design, and nine for User Experience (UX), User Interface (UI) and Service Design.

Introduced in 1954, the iF Design Award is organised by the iF International Forum Design and is one of the world’s most valued design competitions. iF’s guiding principles include identifying, supporting, and promoting good design; effecting social change through design; and supporting talented young people. In 2021, the iF Design Award welcomed almost 10,000 submissions from 60 countries.

Samsung’s two Gold Awards were given to the BESPOKE AX9000N air purifier and the BESPOKE City Colour Edition in the Product category. The BESPOKE AX9000N air purifier was highlighted for its innovative concept, which lets customers choose a different design to best suit their lifestyle and their home.

The BESPOKE City Colour Edition kitchen appliance series was recognised for its amazing range of colours and materials that let you personalise your fridge, induction cookers, and ovens. The BESPOKE City Colour Edition’s colour palettes are inspired by different cities, such as Stockholm, Berlin, and Seoul.

You can now preregister for the Bespoke Range in the UK!

A wide range of other Samsung designs also won awards in the Product category. These include the QLED 8K with its Infinity Screen, which maximises immersion by minimizing the bezel; the WW8000T Washer and DV8000T Dryer, which can be stacked vertically, horizontally, or stand alone; and the Galaxy Z Fold2 and Galaxy Z Flip, our unique foldable smartphones.

Samsung was also recognised for its designs that prioritise accessibility: the WW8000T Washer and DV8000T Dryer UX, which features Braille labels and audio feedback to indicate different cycles or temperature settings, won an iF Design Award for Service Design.

Our environmentally minded packaging design won an award too. Eco-Packaging allows users to upcycle their TV boxes into a whole range of useful objects for the home – from magazine racks to cat houses – by scanning a QR code and following a pattern on the box.

Well done, Samsung Electronics! Have you tried out any of these award-winning products? Let us know in the comments below!
