You might have heard of an ECG. You may even have had one. But what exactly are they, and what do they do? An ECG – short for electrocardiogram – basically measures the electrical activity in your heart, as well as its rhythm, and shows this activity in a graph. A health professional can then use this information to detect whether your heart’s activity is as it should be, or whether there is something that needs looking at.
So that you can keep a closer eye on your heart, you can now measure your ECG with Samsung Health Monitor, using your Galaxy Watch3 or your Galaxy Watch Active2. The results can then tell you whether you have a normal heartbeat or whether you could have atrial fibrillation. Atrial fibrillation is a common form of abnormal heart rhythm, which affects an estimated 33.5 million people in the world and can cause other heart complications.
To measure your ECG, your Galaxy Watch3 or Galaxy Watch Active2 uses a sensor to measure your heart’s rhythm and electrical activity and transmits this information back to the app on your phone.
