Hello Samsung team,
I recently discovered the Relumino Outline feature in the accessibility settings and was surprised to find that it also applies to the live camera viewfinder, not just photos and videos. I think this functionality has huge potential beyond accessibility, and I’d love to suggest that you implement it as a dedicated feature in the Camera app.
Suggested Implementation:
Add a toggle in the Camera app settings, or within Pro Mode or Camera Assistant, named something like:
“Edge Assist View” or “Live Outline View”
Allow this to outline only camera preview content, not the entire UI, for a cleaner experience.
Optionally allow intensity control of outlines (thickness, contrast, color).
Key Use-Cases:
1. Improved Manual Focus:
Just like focus peaking, outlines can help users see edges and details clearly.
2. Low-Contrast Framing:
In bright light or low-light scenes, outlines enhance subject separation and clarity.
3. Composition Tool:
Useful for photographers to pre-visualize scenes, especially for black-and-white or flat-contrast subjects.
4. Assistive View for Video Creators:
Content creators could use it as a lightweight object tracking visual aid.
This could be an excellent accessibility-crossover feature that benefits both visually impaired users and advanced camera users. Making it a native option would increase usability and give more creative control without needing to enable full-screen accessibility modes.
Thanks for your consideration — Samsung continues to impress with innovative features, and I hope this suggestion helps push the camera experience even further.
Best regards,
GhostKilller
