What is going on with eARC update for the soundbar HW-Q90R?

Hi everyone,

I need some clarification, as to be honest the Samsung support staff are hopeless with knowing anything about their own products. 

I was on chat with support enquiring about the eARC firmware update for this soundbar, he replies to me saying it doesn't have eARC?! 

the whole reason I purchased it was because of this update, I have the LG C9 which is eARC!

if they don't provide this firmware update to allow it, then this soundbar is going back for a refund.

It TOTALY FALSE, samsung told from the beginning to the reviewer that they will add eARC on all the 2019 QLED.
And after they tried to denied it until the customer remind them what they promise. So When I bought my Q90r Qled, I bought it in part because it had eARC.

Good for you if you want to be a blind fanboy but stop bothering the customer who want brand to keep there words.

No, that is not correct. 

Can you give us a source? 

The first time the Samsung confirmed this was at the CES 2020 and for the first time only for the Q90r. Look at the Video at HDTV Test.

Here, here  they are such moaners. To me get atmos through my soundbar which is the Q90R and dont go through crappy tv speakers. I am not moaning as I am getting atmos.

I just dont understand them. I am getting atmos playing through the samsung atmos app running through soundbar and tells me I am running in atmos.

Atmos on netflix is ***** and only in 5.1

If you want decent atmos sound then still need an atmos 4k bluray player or Xbox One X hooked up directly to soundbar.

Playing atmos even if tv had atmos is still useless unless played through atmos soundbar or decent dedicated system so eARC on tv is irrelevant.

I am happy and getting full atmos.

Played a few atmos movies and increcable.

I dont understand how people want atmos on the tv and run their gear using the crappy tv speakers.

If you want decent atmos then get a decent atmos setup. Problem solved.

I look at many test back before I bought my TV, and it was clearly state in many of those review that samsung would bring eARc in a following firmware. Must of those review have since then been edit to not mislead people when the reviewer found out there were lied to.

They  added it to the Q90R soundbar. As most who buy a new tv either play it through soundbar or dedicated sound system.

You will never get good or decent atmos through crappy tv speakers so why moan. Going though your sound system will get true atmos.

There could only 2 reason for you posting this type of comment on this forum: your are a fanboy who do like people saying bad thing about his brand, or you are a troll. In both case nobody need your comment.

So sick of you moaners loaning about something so trivial. If you buy something like the Q90R you would not expect to play an atmos source through crappy tv speakers.

TV does not broadcast I  atmos. Netflix is ***** atmos.

The only way to get atmos is through a decent sound system. And your never going to get this through those tv speakers. 

If your so interested in atmos then you wont be using your crappy tv speakers anyway.
