Hi everyone,

I need some clarification, as to be honest the Samsung support staff are hopeless with knowing anything about their own products.

I was on chat with support enquiring about the eARC firmware update for this soundbar, he replies to me saying it doesn't have eARC?!

the whole reason I purchased it was because of this update, I have the LG C9 which is eARC!

if they don't provide this firmware update to allow it, then this soundbar is going back for a refund.

Wierd, I updated via SmartThings app and I have the following numbers:

M-0128.0
B-1010.5
H-0051.0
FD-0040.0
W-0033.0 <---
S-0033.0 <---

What is W and S and why it's so much different?

Also, does anyone know if the firmware package is available online? I can't find and firmware on the official Samsung site.

I got the same numbers on my Q-80R soundbar, had 1008 before. And no, the update disappeared from the US support site and no firmware on there now

Hi Mike_kr.
Your sub and rears are not paired correctly. That' s why the weird numbers.
Pair them again and do the second part of the update again.

I also had 1008.0 before, however previously I installed 1008.0 via USB drive because SmartThings app used to show 1007.9 as the latest.

I have Q80R so no rears for me. I will re-pair the subwoofer then and try again.

I updated from 1007.9 to 1010.5 With smarthing(I live in france)

then I get

B-1010.5
H-0051.0
FD-0040.0
W-0240.0
S-0133.0
RR-0133.0
RL-0133.0

So i pressed the  down  touch from the remote for 5 seconds and i get an update now :

M-0128.0
B-1010.5
H-0051.0
FD-0040.0
W-0240.0
S-0136.0
RR-0136.0
RL-0136.0

W is still 0240.0 someone  Know how to update w ?

I believe the "S" stands for side speakers. So you don't have RR and RL, which are the rear speakers.

@flaco239 I updated from 1008 and followed all the procedures. I have the same numbers as you. Tried to update the subwoofer 3 times already. Unpaired and paired again. It won't update to 241. I don't think this is an issue. Everything works fine.
