The player will play Atmos content from a disc but not from the Netflix app. The Netflix subscription id 4K Ultra, and the sound output is bitstream (uncoded). The Netflix movie description says 5.1 sound is available, which plays through to the soundbar. Netflix says if the device is Atmos capable, the description should display the Atmos logo. Is it possible the player is Atmos capable but the Samsung version of the Netflix app is not?
Hello I checked with the support this morning. the Netflix app does not send atmos on Blu-ray player from Samsung due to Samsung not having atmos certified product. You can get it from disc if the disc is atmos and you connect the Blu-ray player directly to the atmos soundbar but nothing else. There is a petition to make Samsung tv retroactively get atmos and vision support. You can check for it online, as if I post it year they remove the link.
