Q70T soundbar & Q-symphony: lacking voice clarity and volume

Connected via HDMI-eARC.  Voice volume in shows and movies is low and non-distinct. Consistently drowned out by other sound effects. Sounds slightly better when sound comes just from tv or just from soundbar, but not in TV + soundbar (q-symphony) mode. Have adjusted treble and bass settings to no effect.

if im honest i think it's just the fact Q-Symphony was designed to sound immersive and add to the surround... but it seems that the effect only makes clarity harder/worse. not sure what to suggest as I belive it's just the way it's designed unfortunately

I have the same issue but unable to change anything except the bass levels.
