No surround sound

Hdmi from Apple TV to soundbar, and from the soundbar to the TV om the arc port.

I have linked my surround speakers to my soundbar. In Apple TV I have chosen dolby 5.1 but when using the surround test app i have no sound in the rear speakers. Any ideas?

No surround sound appears to be a common problem. Samsung seems to be struggling with it. I am postponing my decision to get one till I hear from the community that the problem has been solved.

Yeah, i bought the soundbar about 2-3 years ago, had some issues back then as well but i think i got it working once. Can't remember why i took the sattelite speakers away, but no they just wont work

I too bought a soundbar (MS550) a couple of years ago.  Now added pair of AKG VL speakers.  Managed to get the TV to recognise soundbar and speakers in surround sound and pass the surround setup test.  BUT it will not operate in surround sound only solo soundbar.  Awaiting ideas from Samsung.
