When using the K650 sound bar and two R1 Wireless speakers in surround sound mode over wifi with the latest firmware, The quailty of the sound K650 drops, sounds very muddy. As soon as you use the sound bar on it own, the sound bar improves. this is happening for a quite a few users.

can you help.

Please have an engineer visit! Because all of these things are not resolving the actual issue: 5.1 over Wi-Fi. This has worked in the past. And we can all hear the rears, albeit the soundbar drastically over powering them. We are so close. Even using optical, having to re-create the Surround group is not practical. I have not tested the HDMI ARC fully to determine if my surround settings get reset every time, but if they do, this again is not a practical solution.

Hi abob36,

Yes, after reading your post I will go with the offer of engineer visit regardless, and come up with a list of items not working as advertised. In addition to abob36,  If anyone wants me to make some representation of particular issues please let me know, then I won't waste the opportunity presented.

This is a copy of the email I received (I have to blank the surname or the Moderators will delete the post) :

Dear Mr ******, should it be preferable for an engineer to attend and assess, this can be arranged. If you can please advise any dates or days which would be suitable for a visit to be arranged, I can book this in for you.

It's a shame this wasn't offered withing the first 50 requests I made though......... Huff

Hmmmmmm. Cant get it to work for me without losing the ability to pass a hdmi source through the soundbar to the TV. If I set up as suggested and try to choose the source that's connected through the sound bar I get a message that says hdmi already selected as a speaker. Please press source to choose a connected source. B*gger.  😢

That is interesting. You run out of inputs on the TV? I only have a couple HDMI sources connected, so I do not need to plug directly into the soundbar. This is definitely worth investigating.

Hi leelazer

Have you tried the set up without pass through to see if you get the same as others?

Doesn't help your issue but would be good to know if you can get it working.

Yeah I use all my hdmi inputs so to use the Arc I have to connect an input to the soundbar. If I then select D in it doesn't let the source pass through the sound bar. This now isn't an option for me as it's easier to use a separate remote than to keep changing cables round 😢

Hi Rob

Yeah if I select a different source I get sound but still didn't notice any decent volume from the rears. I didn't play about with it much though as I need to be able to pass a source through the bar. Lol.

Have you tried a Hdmi splitter?

If you have two input cables that are never used together you can use a splitter that acts as an automated switch....... Might be teaching you to suck eggs so appologies if this is the case

I have used splitters in the past but good quality ones aren't cheap. In the interest of research and helping out I am going to play about with it a bit more when I am here on my own. My girlfriend is less than understanding when it comes to me messing about plugging in and unplugging cables while she is trying to watch the great pottery throw down lol.
