Although I've had it a good few years, never having a problem with it, my home cinema system is throwing a fit. It seemed to start when the blu ray/ dvd drawer wouldn't fully extend. I gently pulled it and inserted the disc and it seemed to work okay. The next day, when I switched it on, it now cycles through "LOAD", "No DISC" repeatedly, even when trying to use "D in", "AUX" or any other setting. I've disconected the drive from the rest of the unit, no difference. I've reset the unit whilst it was in stand by mode, nothing. It's not dirty inside, all very clean looking. Anyone know what's going on... Please help.
I've looked over the net all to no avail.Solved! Go to Solution.

had same idea, unfortunatelly it seems that there is no communication over LAN port from start to first restart. It may be that my device is trying WiFi first but I disabled it does not seem real that it will be able to connect that fast.
There seem to be no RTC circuit on the board and not battery. So there are two possibilities. Samsung either uses some supercapacitor to keep time and disconnecting the device for several hours (days) will revert the time or they record the last correct time device sav into some form of NVRAM and start with on restart.

This has to have some connection with time. Mine was working perfectly this Sunday. When I wand to finish the movie I was watching it started to reboot itself.
Unfortunately from screenshot I saw it looks for me that there is nothing which allows you to reset the time of device.
Nothing to do with time I'm afraid. All affected devices have been connected to the internet.

Yes, but why my device worked perfectly on Saturday. I have BD-J5900 which does not seem to get any updates from 2017 (or at least Samsung spport page does not list any).
Or do you think that someone distributed some rogue update through update network?

Yes we have to wait, but how long? This is affecting a considerably number of persons in lots of countries! I sincerely don’t understand why SAMSUNG don’t give a explanation about what’s going and don’t say anything about it. I have everything from this brand like LCD’s, Cellphones, Laptops etc and at this time I’m truly considering to give up about them if the problem is not solved in the next hours. I’m from Portugal and this started at Wednesday here.
I truly hope SAMSUNG solve this issue in the next hours, otherwise they will lost millions of costumers around the world! Pay attention to clients who don’t know nothing about the issue and probably have take the equipments to garbage or maybe to a technical and this ones you will never have back.
