Hi All,

I have a HW Q60T Soundbar that takes a feed from my Virgin TV Box and then out to the TV via the HDMI arc conection.

When running a signal test on this connection the TV is reporting that this connection is restricting video resolution to 720 and is suggesting I should get a better cable.

However if I connect to the TV directly from the Virgin box using the same cable the TV reports the resolution at 1080.

Query is whether a new cable from the soundbar to the TV will fix this issue. I thought the point of HDMI arc was to reduce the amount of cables required?

I dont know the spec of the cable I am using, I suppose its possible its not capable of carrying the signal required but I'd be interested in any thoughts/suggestions.

Thanks

Hi, you need to make sure the cable you are using can provide the resolution you require, you may also want to check if the Virgin box is limited to the content resolution it can provide.

you may find it better to connect directly to the TV, however.
