Given Samsung history, seems that with the upcoming HW-Q950T/Q900T soundbars (
https://news.samsung.com/us/samsung-premium-soundbar-line-up-hw-q950t-hw-q900t/) we're not likely to see any meaningful firmware updates with the Q90R.
Such great hardware with crippling software implementation. So much left desired out of this Q90R, it feels like a waste of money in relation to the untapped potential this soundbar really has.
I hope someone can crack the firmware and release their own version to unlock the true potential of this soundbar, also given its price.
The Q90R will be my last Samsung hardware purchase.

To be fair no one expects major upgrades down the line but at least for one cycle of the next product
But one thing we should expect is simple changes to effectively use the product based on feedback from the customer
As the rears of the q950 are the exact same as the q90 then we can expect any improvements that are implemented there
