Hi Guys,

I've performed the firmware update 1012.6 for my HW-Q90R soundbar via USB drive. (currently doesn't work with smarthings app)

Given that there is no official statement from Samsung with the details of the update I would like to check with the community what new features have been included.

Also how should be the list bellow if the firmware 1012.6 is correctly applied to all components  ?

Thank you :smiling-face:

M 0133.0
B 1012.6
H 0051.0
FD 0040.0
W 0240.0
S 0136.0
RR 0136.0
RL 0136.0

Hi,

I updated the subwoofer and rear speakers after the main soundbar update according to these Samsung instructions:

https://downloadcenter.samsung.com/content/FM/202007/20200729125649397/2019_Soundbar_Firmware_Upgrad...

Hi @Woosb ,

I followed the guide you have kindly shared, but I still have W 0240.0 (do you have the same or you have W 0241.0 like @CornelPalm has)
I share what happen in my soundbar following the procedure:

1. soundbar is on, and sub + rear off unplugged ( I did also with all powered on)

2. plugging sub + rears spk

3. I press "volume" button then i click "down" button

4. soundbar display quickly "up date" for 3 second then > S RDY > S OK > RL RDY > RL OK > RR RDY > RR OK > W RDY > W OK

(I don't understand if the USB key should be keept connected or if it is the bar that will allow update sub+Rspeakers without usb stick)

thank you in advance :smiling-face:

I also have W 0240.0 and other also in this topic, so you should not worry about that :smiling-face:

@next6000 Another question from my side, what happens with your soundbar if you put the USB in it again? Does it start the update routine or does it do nothing? (want to compare to mine soundbar)

After update:

M 0133.0
B 1012.6
H 0051.0
FD 0040.0
W 0242.0
S 0136.0
RR 0136.0
RL 0136.0

W is the wireless segment or module of the firmware.

Like others, Smarthings was useless (as it always has been) so the USB method is the only option.

Went smoothly the very first time.  And when I forced the sub & satellites update I noticed that that the display is now verbose about the process from beginning to end... where you can see the version checks returned with "Ok" at each step.  That's different.

Fingers crossed this update improves the wireless connectivity issues between the bar & sub.

No change-log from Samsung is garbage engineering & support.

Will be purchasing the Klipsch 1200 in 2021.

Why is the wireless firmware different for us? Should that be the same for everyone?

does anybody knows if you can force the update to run again?

The firmware is self aware, so there is no way to reset the system and/or load a second time once it's been installed.  The unit would have to go back to a service center for that.
