Good morning friends.

I've performed the firmware update for my HW-Q90R soundbar.

Given that there is no official statement from Samsung with the details of the update  I would like to check with the community what new features have been included.

- How can I check now the firmware version on the bar, to check if the rears are updated as well? In the past just by holding the sound mode button on the remote with the soundbar off the different versions appeared on the display.

Now it is not case. Now by holding sound mode for 5 seconds with the bar off it enables a new functionality: Test Tone

NEW FEATURES

- EARC functionality is enabled, this is great.

- Test tone: What it this for? It performs a test of the sound of the different channels, is it useful for anything else?

- Now in the sources appeared TV SPEAKERS, what is this for?

I would like to check specially if the update has included any update of the rears and subwoffer

Please note that it is likely that this Firmware did not include any updates for the Sub or Rears, as they probably were not needed.  The connection issues were fixed back in the 1008 update.  Any further issues with that could have been solved in the primary 1010.5 update.

I did notice when my soundbar updated, it rebooted and said "UPDATE" for a little while longer, before it rebooted a second time.  I did try the Volume Down thing myself.  It flashed "UPDATE" for like a second or two before it rebooted and reconnected to WiFi - leaving me to believe that the Sub and Rears are at their current version.  :thumbs-up-sign-emoji-modifier-fitzpatrick-type:

Mine the same. Thanks for the tip to check firmware version.
So far then, the updates confirmed are the eARC functionality and test tone. No update for rears and subwoofer.

I'm not sure about this. I had 1007.9 and I'm pretty sure I had 1033.0 on the rear speakers. Now I have 1010.5 and 1036.0 on the rear speakers. However I have 0240.0 on the subwoofer, not 0241.0.

I mean, not a new version compared to 1008.0, but some kind of update to the rear speaker has occurred as well. I don't know why the subwoofer stayed at 0240.0...

Same thing here. I had 1007.9 and the W stayed the same 240.0. Rears 0136.0.

maybe 241.0 went those who had firmware 1008? I don't know.

I also noticed something wierd in the test tone. While it goes through every channel in main soundbar, when it comes to the rears it does not test each one of them, L, R, and TOP, but instead it give just one tone for both speakers.

Does that to you too, or just mine? Has anyone tried it?

Ok, to conclude, my Q-90R soundbar comes from 1007.9 firmware to 1010.50

In smartthings app, the update tab says 1010.5  128R

The soundbar display says after the update:

M-0128.0
B-1010.5
H-0051.0
FD-0040.0
W-0240.0
S-0136.0
RR-0136.0
RL-0136.0

Waiting for usb file to be uploaded from Samsung in order to compare readings those of us that had 1007.9 and those with 1008 firmware.

After the firmware update to 1010.5 my readings are:

M-0128.0
B-1010.5
H-0051.0
FD-0040.0
W-0240.0
S-0136.0
RR-0136.0
RL-0136.0

I don't know what the numbers were before the firmware update.

I performed the update procedure for the rear speakers and subwoofer 3 times and the sub won't change from 0240 to 0241 as some have reported. Not sure this is an issue. Everything works fine.

I recently got this soundbar, how do you check for all of those numbers. When I go into the update section all I see is HW-Q70RWWB-1010.5 and 128R. I don't have rear speakers btw.
