Gemini or Google Assistant

Which one should I prioritise as my main AI assistant between Google Assistant and Gemini?

I guess the obvious suggestion is to try out Gemini and see which you prefer.

I've been back and forward a few times, currently back with GA as Gemini wasn't giving me reliable answers, but I'm going to swap again as they keep improving it.

I'm sure I read that Gemini will now use GA for phone actions but not sure if this is only for the paid version...

I think that's what's really pushing me away from Gemini being that it's paid for and Google Assistant isn't or atleast isn't showing to be paid for.

Gemini certainly has a free version which is worth giving a go.

Untill they add the use of Spotify into Gemini I will be sticking with GA but once it can do that I'll make the switch. Theres a lot of good things with Gem

personal preference and best to experiment if you like, at least there is a free version of Gemini though obviously not quite so advanced as premium version.  Have feeling though that longer term Gemini will take over.

It will eventually. If Google get a lot of success and upgrade it it'll replace Google Assistant and be the new Google AI hopefully with no pay wall
