Just got a SmartTag2 but can't get it to connect to my phone. I've tried resetting the tag, I'm running the latest version of smart things, I've got a stable Internet connection but keep getting error code 84-002 "temporary server error". It's been almost 24hrs of trying on/of. Any ideas what else I can try?

So, as a last-ditch attempt, I uninstalled and reinstalled the smart things app and it seems to have worked. I guess whatever bug it had cleared when reinstalling. Give it a go, and I hope it works for you too 🤞

I have 4 smart tags 2. As soon as I pulled the blue battery tag out of thr smart tag, I got a notification on my phone to complete the connection and update the smart tag software.

I suggest contacting samsung as you might have a faulty one.

I'm having the same issue. Got 4 Smarttag2 that got delivered today. Tested 2 and neither connects. 
Probably the Samsung server itself that is down.

I've just had 2 delivered and 1st one I've come too is not connecting. Tried taking battery out and still same fault code as yours.

So I have a s20fe and it doesn't connect. My Mrs as come home and she as a s23fe and they connected straight away. I tried uninstalling the app and reinstalled it but still getting the error code 84-002
