New Clear View Cover for Note8

Hi, I've ordered the new Note8, first samsung phone, I read on here that the AOD doesn't work for the S8 with the clear view cover, does it work with the clear view cover for the Note8? I'd like to have the clock on all the time, even with the cover closed, not turn off after a few seconds.

Can you please clarify which cover / case you want to know about. 

The Samsung "Clear Cover"  you mention is just a minimal case that clips onto the back of the phone.

Looking at the review from TechZilla it's been suggested it has scratched phones. 

But on looking at his review the AOD stays on.

thanks for the video. It appears the AOD switches off after a while, but the phone is an S8, will the AOD stay on with the case for the Note8? Are there any other cases which you can interact with, and can you actually see the names of people calling, rather than just a symbol? If it scratches phones, would a screen protector work? or would the case push it off?

There are settings in these phones that react and turn off the screen if it thinks it's in a bag or pocket. 

Called 'Keep Screen Turned Off'

These can be switched off. 

I'm not sure if that's the reason AOD turns off. 

What I would do it wait until the phone has been released and watch similar reviews of accessories like the one I added to check on comparability. 

There are lots of cases available from official to 3rd party ones so it's impossible to comment. 

I like the LED Case but it's not what your particular looking for. 

Right now I personally use the Rhinoshield bumper and dbrand Black Dragon Back Skin and Samsung Official film type screen protector. 

To answer your question yes a screen protector would be doing it's primary job by protecting the screen against marks and scratches.
