Is the Samsung Galaxy Watch actually not supported for the Charger Trio?

I recently bought a Samsung Charger Trio for my Ecosystem. I've got a Note 9, Samsung Buds and my Galaxy Watch. Everything is charging perfectly fine on the pad except for my watch; I need to find a perfect sweet spot for it to charge, otherwise the charging indicator just blinks red. On the product page it says "Only supports Samsung Watch 3 and Active Watches" so I wonder if my model is not supported. Thing is that I did manage to get it to charge somehow, but finding the sweet spot is just annoying.

It does charge perfectly fine with an Active Watch, with no need for weird alignment of the watch. Only the Galax Watch makes it difficult.

Did I just got a  weird Pad? Or is it because it is not supported?

Might be the strap lugs at the corners of the watch stopping the back of the watch contacting the charger properly - I have a flat wireless charger for my phone but my Galaxy Frontier 3 watch does not sit flat enough on it as the lugs keep it a couple of mm off the charger pad
