Can the Smart Tag be reset?

My son gave me his old Samsung S21 plus the smart tag. he reset the phone, but I'm now unable to register the smart tag as its still linked to his old account, which he has no access to. Is it possible to factory reset the smart tag?

@bigbumsharon, You must unregister Smart Tag in Smartthings app. You need to do this while logged in to your son Samsung account.
