Is there a better font you can download to use @mark2jag via Settings, Display, Font size and style, tap on font style ' default '

@mark2jag: You may wish to try heading to Settings > Accessibility > Visibility Enhancements > Magnifier Window > On, to magnify content shown on screen. When this is turned on, use the Accessibility button at the bottom of the screen to quickly show or hide the magnifier window. Alternatively, check out the Magnification options, such as Triple Tap To Magnify, and Use Shortcut To Magnify.

in the end I went into google settings and adopted the high contrast option and ramped the text size up to 120%.
This seemed to sort all my issues and I'm now a happy bunny once more
