Hi there,

I have a question on you guys. I want to factory reset my old samsung s10 edge plus phone, but I am scared, that I will lose all of my data which are already transfered to my new samsung s24 plus. Both of these devices are logged in to my samsung account.

Can I factory reset my old phone without any worries of losing my transfered apps, photos, notes, videos, etc. to my new phone? Aren't these devices now like one device if they are both signed to one account?  Should I stop the synchronization of data too?

Thank you for the reply.

Hi and welcome 👋

Once you've transferred the data to your knew phone it will stay there as its stored on the phone storage so when you reset your S10 your new phone won't be affected :smiling-face:

Hey there and welcome to the Samsung UK and EU Community Customer to Customer Forum

Transferring all your data to your new phone will mean it is safe.

It would also be worth thinking about signing up for a backup service such as Google One or One Drive as a secondary back up but that will come with an annual cost.
I am not employed by Samsung nor do I receive any remuneration as a Samsung Members Star.

My device is an S25 Ultra.

So I don't need to do another back up. I transferred the data from the old phone to the new phone by usb cabel. The factory reset only apply on my old phone and it won't effect the new one. My data will be still stored in my new phone, right? 😊

Consider backing up your Galaxy S10 using Smart Switch on your computer. This ensures a copy of your videos, pictures, documents, and applications; however, you may need to re-login to applications such as online banking, and some game data may be lost. Generally, the process is safe.
