Gear Sport and Water

Hi guys,

I would really appreciate any latest experiences with using the Gear Sport in and around water. Obviously, the sales spec says it is resistant to 5ATM (50m) but they also specifically say no impact watersports.

However, I have used a 50m non-smartwatch in such conditions for years without issues. 

What has your experiance been? Is it really 5ATM like a traditional 50m resistant watch or not?

Any reviews with swimming at least? 

Anyone worn their watch 24/7 (apart from charging) consistantly having in and out of wate/showers daily? Any issues to report?

Hi JK2017,

I wear the watch all the time apart from charging.

Though i do not go swimming with it, i regularly get showered with the watch on.

I haven't noticed any ill effects so far. For reference i've had the watch around 8 months.

I do use the watch mountain biking which does cause the watch problems.

If mud / dirt / sand gets on it, it can work its way underneath the twisting bezel.

This produces an awful grinding sound but can be washed out (eventually). Can't be good for the seal though.

I try to protect it from dirt now.
