Rash on part of my wrist from wearing the new 2018 46mm watchRash on part of my wrist from wearing the new 2018 46mm watch

I received my pre ordered Samsung Gear 46mm 2018 watch on September 7th 2018 and have been wearing it often. Remove it for showering and charging and sometimes I sleep with it.

Recently iv noticed this rash developing and it slightly irritates me. The rash area is sore red and it looks like the skin is stretched or burnt. Th picture does bit show as clear as seen in person.

Iv done some googling and found a few people complain about similar rash on the older gear watches. They state it could be the strap and say to try it on the other hand to see if you have an allergic reaction etc.

I have a bit of an issue with this, I am a contractor and work with my hands, if this causes something more serious or stops me from doing my work it would be financially un-beneficial for me.

I have been tested befoe for allergies and my results came back clear so I dont know exactly what going on.

If anybody from Samsung or otherwise can provide some insight into my situation please let me know asap. It's a bit annoying paying 300 quid for a watch that's going to give me a rash

Cheers

I'm just looking for the best watch that doesn't cause a rash, I guess I won't be buying a Samsung then!

I got rid of the stock wristband and i do not have the rash any more. I got a stainless steel magnetic wristband on ebay for the replacement.

I just bought a samsung active watch, I seem to have a very bad reaction to the strap too... 2 days after wearing and my wrist is covered in spots and blisters...

I Have the same thing happening. I've been wearing the watch for months and its been fine. A couple of weeks ago I started to get a rash.. I cleaned my watch because i though it was soap or scum causing it. The rash cleared up and i started to wear the watch again yesterdaay and woke up to another rash (More red and lightly blistered). I don;t think it's from the HR monitor, because if not rashing under the watch.

I saw my GP and she said it looked like an allergic reaction, but why it only started about 6 months after I started wearing the watch, I'm not sure.

My friend just got me a new strap for the watch, for a bday gift (by Strap Studio, with "designed for Samsung on packaging) and it's leather on top, but they didn't realise it was still rubber on the under-side of strap. So far so good though! The rash has gone and I'm wearing the watch as normal.... just hope it doesn't do the same as the previous strap after a few months of wearing!

Excatly the same as i have on both hands 😕

It showed up after few days of wearing. Red rash and in day or too skin peels off on that place.  Tried on other hand - same. I am not allergic to anything.

I have a formal complaint in with Samsung Canada. They asked for pics of my wrist, the watch and the watch invoice. They said it will be about 4 days before I hear back. It'll be interesting what they have to say, considering that they have 30 pages of other people with similar reactions, which I pointed out .
