Received my galaxy watch on Friday but no matter what I do I cannot get the step counter to work properly, I've tried all the suggested things to fix the problem but nothing works, the step count is so intermittent or dosent work at all.

If I get up and walk around it counts nothing, jog up the stairs and it starts counting, sit down and get up again and the watch stops counting.

I've seen alot of posts with people with the same problem and all of them returning there watches, I love the watch and don't really want to return it if it's a software issue that can be fixed.

Anyone else UK having the same issue

@Tasaran At least you know that a few missing steps is most probably  due to the new algorithm used and a fix should be doable with a future upgrade.

On the other hand, inacurate HR monitoring can very well be a hardware defect.

@GaryBrett

Cheers mate. I'll be returning mine tomorrow and will wait for stock.

I have also ordered a Xiaomi Stratos for my activities so I hope it will do the job for a few weeks until things clear up with GW.

Additionally and I may be over thinking this as I've been at it for 5 weeks non stop but I started getting private messages from Samsung America about 10 days asking for my watch logs..

Initially they asked for steps data, after I sent the first batch they skipped and went straight in for the HR problems. I ended up sending multiple data dumps, screenshots, comparisons over. They seemed much more interested in this data and told me they were due to meet with specialists yesterday..

Not heard back since but got me thinking that HR may be a more troublng issue for them?

Like I said, maybe I'm over thinking it all

Interesting! I tend to agree and think the heart rate tracking is the more important issue here, which is obviously the non existent four sleep stages too. Whether that is hardware or software I guess only time will tell!!

Yeah, I remember you wrote about that team the other day.

I have already sent them numerous logs after ''unsuccessful activites'' I had with the GW.

I think I've sent 4-5 already, maybe even more.

The only response I've had as of now is that my reports were forwarded to the related department

And. If it is hardware I'll demand a replacement. Not going to have someone dismantling it when it's been a problem from day one. Not sure I'd ever pre order again! Saying that I love the duo charger!

Does someone know how to export data from the 46mm watch?
