Received my galaxy watch on Friday but no matter what I do I cannot get the step counter to work properly, I've tried all the suggested things to fix the problem but nothing works, the step count is so intermittent or dosent work at all.
If I get up and walk around it counts nothing, jog up the stairs and it starts counting, sit down and get up again and the watch stops counting.
I've seen alot of posts with people with the same problem and all of them returning there watches, I love the watch and don't really want to return it if it's a software issue that can be fixed.
Anyone else UK having the same issue

I've had 2 different updates, one minor and a major one yesterday. Seems like it has improved a bit however still misses steps on occasions. I'm on a replacement watch too, hopefully it'll continue to improve with each update.

g_t_j, wish I could help you out but Samsung have gone back on the promise.
If I still want a replacement it won't be here for another 2ish weeks, no definate date so unable to test any further at moment.
One promising note though if you still have the will to live.. Over the past week I have been getting private messages from Samsung America (I think), asking me for data logs and screenshots if my testing over the previous 4 weeks.
These chaps seem to know what's happening, in contact every couple of days, first about steps, then HR and calories burnt, today I got this:
-------------------------------
Perfect! Thank you so much! I have another meeting with our specialists on Tuesday where we'll go over the information you provided today so hopefully I'll get another update that I can provide everyone.
-------------------------
At the very least, they are definately on it now, how it pans out is anyone's guess

Thanks for the info Gary.
I was hoping your experience tomorrow would make me decide what I was going to do with mine....
If only we had a definite answer whether there is a SW fix to these bugs. If that was the case I wouldn't have any prblem to wait for that fix. I don't want to end up with a ''forever faulty'' device.
I don't know what to do - as much as I like all other features of the Galaxy watch I'm torn whether to return it or not now.
I couldn't have gotten away with a cheap and reliable Xiaomi Stratos for my running...

Do you think it was the replacement or the update?

Same for me, I just want to know if it the software or hardware... If I don't know by the middle of the week, I will return them...
