Data only sim in Galaxy Tab S, how do I get on the internet ??!!

HI, Dumb question here as I have never used mobile broadband before, although I am familiar with WIFI, routers etc etc.  Can someone explain for me just how my new tablet when fitted with a data only sim from Vodafone will connect to the internet ? Is there some software to download, or is there an app for doing this ? Does the tablet have to "call" a number to make the connection?  Sorry about this but nowhere can I find an explanation of how it happens ! many thanks. Elkiton.

Yes there is usually software you download in order to.control it.
