I think it needs to support 4K 600MHz, HDCP 2.2, etc. I think the Integral is about the cheapest, but I'm no expert on HDFury products, just a customer. And I didn't by my HDFury for EDID purposes originally.

The only additional line I got was

Thanks again for your response. Whilst I am obviously frustrated by progress on this issue to date, the fact that you have been willing to remain in correspondence is a credit to yourself and much appreciated.

I would take issue with the following line of your email (which I note has been copied and pasted from an email to another Samsung customer)

“In respect of the where you have read on forums that the suggested steps have worked, Samsung cannot respond to comments made on forums concerning specific steps that customers have taken.”

I was quite clear in my email to you yesterday that I am watching HLG on my own, personal KS screen. This is not based on something I have read on the internet but solid evidence with my own eyes. Any of your engineers are welcome to visit my home (not too far from your Weybridge office!) and see for themselves the wonder of HLG being delivered over HDMI to a KS line television. On the basis this is my own experience and not something “read on forums” could Samsung therefore comment and confirm the issue is not HLG but the HDMI EDID error which is present in these televisions?

Further to our discussion this week, it is now my understanding from your European colleagues in Italy that a fix is being worked on to enable HLG content delivery of HDMI.

As this position seems to be even more confused that at the start of the week, perhaps Samsung could have another attempt at clearing up this matter once and for all?

If Samsung where to give a thorough explanation why this is the case then it would make the situation easier to accept.

matts response from Samsung touches on this by saying that HLG over HDMI wasnt part of the spec when the TV launched, which is correct but it also wasnt part of the spec when sky q silver launched in November 2015. It also wasnt part of the spec when I purchased my mut@nt HD51 Enigma 2 sat receiver, both of which are now known to support HLG over hdmi

I agree completely!

If Samsung explained to us that changing the EDID with a firmware update wasn't possible then we could all accept it and move on.

But as it is right now we are being told that a fix isnt going to happen, then over in the Italian forum they are being told that a fix is in the works!

As I've said that line totally goes against the HDMI Forum Spec that product families MUST be upgradeable within themselves during their lifetime, it would also go against why Samsung feels it can support VRR in HDMI 2.0b, when this is a HDMI 2.1 feature.

I totally agree, Samsung should just come out and admit ALL the faults with this set, but legally they can't as it would put them at risk of class action litigation, and probably damage to the brand.

I dunno, perhaps I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt, but that thinking would assume that Samsung intentionally released the set in a half finished state, when we all know just how good it can be when it's fed the right source material.
