They seem to be saying you can connect your tv to it though?

Ask them how you can make the TV the center of you iot as advertised?  Ask them what is needed to enable the TV to talk to the other device's (which we know is the smart connect USB dongle )? Ask them how will the smart things hub connect to your TV without anything actually  connected to your TV and where is the smart things app on the TV (again you only get that if you connect the smart connect usb dongle)? They are trying to confuse the issue with smart connect dongle and smart things hub.

just playing devils advocate here, but do we actually know the tv cant connect to this new hub without the dongle? Could it communicate via wifi or bluetooth? It could be that the tv only connects to the  hub and will not connect to anything else. This could be a way of connecting tv to iot but it wouldnt allow tv to be the central hub as promised, but its an alternative.

Ask them that question.    If you look back on posts they admit the smart things hub can not connect to the TV and where is the app to enable it?  Just ask them how you can connect the TV to the smart things hub?

An alternative which is much worse than what was promised is no use when it comes to using that promise under the Law [to get a refund].

It's also all the things I said earlier: disengenious, time-wasting etc. And I'm going to add "insulting" to that list.

Just playing Devil's advocate too.

Watching the BBC iPlayer in 720p Standard Dynamic Range isn't the 4K High Dynamic Range HLG we were promised, "but it's an alternative" (!). :manfrustrated:

Lets be clear the ks TV can not connect to the smart things hub by any means except with the smart connect USB dongle.  You can not use the ks TV as the center of you smart things.  The hub is controlled by a smart things app on your smartphone,  not your TV. Samsung have said in writing that they will not be supplying a smart connect dongle,  and have not given an alternative method to make your TV the center of your smart things as advertised. So to be absolutely clear you can not connect your TV to the hub using wi fi or Bluetooth,  because if that was possible I am sure Samsung would have released an app for the TV by now.

It's now confirmed that HDR10+ will never be added to the 2016 TVs. Samsung has now literally deleted all press releases mentioning the HDR10+ firmware update for the 2016 TVs from their website.

LOL @ this fraudulent company.

Correction, they deleted the ones from their Global news section. These ones are both now gone:

https://news.samsung.com/global/samsung-and-amazon-video-deliver-next-generation-hdr-video-experienc...

https://news.samsung.com/global/how-hdr10-creates-like-real-images

But this one from the US section remains:

https://news.samsung.com/us/hdr10-plus-samsung-amazon-video-deliver-next-generation-hdr-video-experi...

Although I expect it to be deleted soon as well.

It probably wont be deleted, the yanks have hdr10+ don't they? It looks like Samsung are learning to not promise features globally?

Nope! No one with a 2016 Samsung TV has HDR10+.

They lied to everyone.

Thats disappointing, was hoping they would do the right thing, but obviously not. Hopefully they at least give us iplayer hlg, but not holding my breath if they are now starting to cover their tracks and are deleting their lies.
