So, of the nigh on 400 TVs supported in BBC iplayer for the Blue Planet II  HLG episodes none are from Samsung. Oh joy.

...

Moderator edit: Original thread title was "Blue Planet 2 HLG - No Samsung". With the OP's permission, the title was changed on 12/03/2018 to accurately reflect the dominant theme of the thread as it has progressed. If the reader would like to know more about the HLG format, please check out the BBC's page and FAQ's on it here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/rd/projects/high-dynamic-range Thank you, AntS.

That is absolute gold... You slimey suckers samsung. Im getting the popcorn out.

If you're reading this mr ceo. Your company has messed up big time by not supporting bbc iplayer hlg on pre 2017  and we will use every avenue to hurt your brand and your pocket until you reverse that decision. You can mess with hardware addon promises and we will be annoyed but when you mess with functionality that is ESSENTIAL for what we bought the tv for you have gone way too far. We all want that refund.

Well said, it opens the door for everyone to make a claim for miss selling, as long as you did see the article

If Samsung UK are offering to send out a smart things extender, yet have decided not to release this although they promised to, then it begs a question. Which is, what good will it do, will it work at all? If it was any good, we’d have all been getting one.

They might be offering you one, but it may be useless. In which case if you accept one, they would have fulfilled their obligations.

Some of you  may have already seen the link below;

but here is an extract from it;

"It’s worth adding, too, that this update news prompted me to ask Samsung for the umpteenth time if its 2016 TVs will be upgraded to handle HDR10+, as promised in the press release announcing HDR10+ that Samsung put out last April. Unfortunately, I still wasn’t able to get a definitive answer; just another assurance that they’re still looking into it. But the vibe I’m getting isn’t positive."
