Any joy with since you posted this?
Doing some reading around, and it seems some people who've encountered a similar issue have tried turning off Anynet+. You should be able to do this on your model by Home > Settings > General > External Device Manager > Anynet+ (HDMI-CEC), and turning it to 'Off'. Bear in mind that this will disable all Anynet+ control (and you'll be able to re-enable it as you wish), but it may be worth a try to see if that's what's causing the issue in your case.

i tried disabling anynet previously and had no joy.
tried most of the remedy posted on line but no joy.
just purchased a Samsung sound bar and have had no problem connecting it to the tv using wifi and Bluetooth but it does the same as the fire tv box if I try to connect using the hdmi lead I.e it shows the power off symbol in the source input
I used a different hdmi cable.
Tried 4 different cables in total.
my sound bar was also not connecting with any of the first three cables.
4th cable also connected the sound bar.
4th cable was used on an older tv.
the other cables all work on different equipment I.e older Samsung tv, blue ray player, laptop and virgin media box. For some reason they don't work on the new Samsung tv and sound bar.
hope this helps
