TV switching on and off

Hello house. Please I need your advice. My Samsung flat TV UA32F4000321 for some few days has been switching off and on when I put it on. Sometimes it could display for 3-5 minutes before going off a minute and then on again. I took it to Samsung service centre. I was told by the guy I met there that I would be contacted later and be informed about what was wrong with the TV. I was later informed that the main board of the TV is damaged.

Is it possible that the damged main board is the cause of the problem? I don't want to spend money in fixing the main board and to be told later that it's now a different problem.

Is there any other way out of this?

It's indeed possible that the main board is the problem, but it's also possible that the power outlet might be the problem. My recommendation is to test it out at a different power outlet at and different electricity group. If that solves it I recommend to let an electrician to check your electricity wiring to see if everything is OK.
