TV Screen has dark section at top of screen

Semi transparent dark bar in top third of screen. Any ideas. Started suddenly? Same on all inputs, with different HDMI cables.

Hi @Ratbane. Can you tell me the model number of your TV? Are you able to post a picture? Can you also check the software version you're currently running?

Software is 001029.

Thanks, @Ratbane. I can see the latest version is 2008.0. Are you able to download the update by pressing Settings/ Menu on your remote and going to Support > Software Update? If not (and yu have access to a computer and USB memory stick), this link will provide you with the download file. Let us know if you are able to update your TV and if the issue still persists.

TV tells me that version is up to date. Won't give me an option to update. I'll try via computer/usb.

I have my samsung led tv UA46F5000 half screen dark from bottom.

May be not getting the proper backlight in the lower half portion of screen.

What would be the possible issue?

Has it anything to do with software update ?

I have been using it for about 5 years and this happened first time.

Help me resolve my issue.
