Remote control 'next' and 'previous' buttons

Hi!

So I have had my Samsung TV (UE40EH6030) for a number of years now, and I'm pretty happy with it. I use the tv a lot for watching media from an external flash drive connected to the USB port. On the bottom row of the remote (AA59-00603A) are the controls for this use case: a play, pause, rewind and fast forward button. Above the rewind and ffw buttons, are icons that seem to suggest a 'previous' and 'next' function, but I have no idea how to actually activate this feature. It looks like I'd need to press some 'shift'-like button like you do on a comuterkeyboard to access the alternate button meaning? Does anyone have an idea?

Have you tried pressing and holding the buttons down?

I have had contact with Samsung support since this post, and indeed, you need to press and hold the button. I think for about three or four seconds. It works for me. Good luck!

If I hold those buttons in it fast forwards or rewinds it doesn’t skip

I have the same problem, it doesn't skip.

But I'm using a remote different from the one that came with my TV 

The one I got with my TV has almost no buttons

So I'm guessing it's just not compatible or something.. 😒
