Q900R, Q950R, Q900RB and 8K video USB playback

Hi everyone,

Anyone got a 8K video to play properly via USB on the One Connect Box for the 8K Q900, Q900RB, Q950 model? 

I cannot seem to get any YouTube 8k videos to play?

Is it true the only available format at this time is HEVC H265 either MP4/MKV? Which is different to YouTube.

Will this be address at a later date through firmware or another One Connect Box upgrade?

@LucasJ: From what I understand, streaming 8K content via Youtube currently isn't possible, however this is bound to change in the future as the format becomes more mainstream.

Hi LucasJ, there is a way to see 8k videos via USB on the Q900. Just go to the following website: http://ff.de/nasa-8k-hdr-download/. it's German Website, but it is all in englisch.

You may be asked to leave your email address with them for the download, however that is not a problem, they will only contact you in case they have new videos to download. By this by this I was able zu download further vdeos from which I have posted some pictures, see below. These are pictures which I have taken from the TV using an iPhone with 4K photo. See the details like the name on the helicopter or the wall the wall of the building. I think this is incredible quality, no pixels at all.

Still no AV1 codec support for YouTube 8k vids on Q950R - Sad... C'mon Samsung!
