The new firmware for the 2018 and 2019 Samsung TVs to support Airplay 2 and the Apple TV app has been announced and plenty of people have posted photos of it working. But my TV can't seem to find an update from its current v. 1251 firmware. And the support pages on the Samsung website don't list a newer firmware. Anyone had success getting this update?

I have a Series 4 (UA32N4300) running the latest firmware...
- Airplay works great already
- But, I can not find the Apple TV app in the Samsung app store (searching does not help, as well)
How do I proceed?
Thanks

Good afternoon, I have a Samsung TV, model number UE40KU6000 with a serial number of 0CCX3HCHC00367J running software version T-JZL6DEUC-1240.0 and I would like to know if the Apple TV app is available for it, or if not will it be at some point in the future? I've looked for the app via the Smart Hub and it doesn't appear to be there, even after resetting the Smart Hub. Thank you.

Hi @omah1975 The Apple TV app is only available for selected 2018 and all 2019 models. Your Tv is a 2016 model, at present there are mo futther plans but be aware that there will be hardware limitation on some of the older models.
This link was already posted but i will put it here https://appleinsider.com/articles/19/05/13/support-for-airplay-2-apple-tv-app-on-samsung-televisions...
I do not work for Samsung or make Samsung Products but provide independent advice and valuable contributions.

I have a top of the range 65" QLED QE65Q7FAM it was about £4000. Is there any technical reason why we cannot have Apple TV?
if this is simply a commercial decision it is disgusting if it is technically impossible then fair play but I would like to know. Top end TV's particularly those sold less than two years ago should be supported otherwise what incentive is there for brand loyalty?

I agree with you. If it's any consolation, you're not missing much. I have a brand new 75" Q90R, pretty much a flagship product bar the 8k TVs, and the Apple TV app is slow and buggy. Often I just get a spinning loading wheel when trying to airplay from my phone. When I switch over to my actual Apple TV box it works instantly. In short, it has long way to go.

I don't understand and I'm fairly technical why something like an app won't run on any TV given it's just that - an APP. Just like iplayer, Netflix or Amazon. My Mu7070 is perfect, and I don't see how or why many customers would update their whole TV just to access software. These TV's are more than capable of running the ATV application.\
Also who designed this stupid community UI. Can i simpyl find a button saying "post comment" NO. WHY?
