Has anyone here who purchased from curry’s, have insurance on the tv taken out from curry’s themselves coverering for “accidental damage”?

Yes, I have the "whatever happens" cover. Why?

In fairness there is no false legal advice there.  If they don't want to correspond with customers then that's their prerogative.  It doesn't stop anyone from serving an MCOL claim on them.

I'm just gathering the proof I need to go with my ADR against Currys.

I have the Knowhow link from the original post and I want to add a link from the Currys website.  Here's the link from the time when I bought it.  Can anyone help?

https://web.archive.org/web/20160806222322/http://www.currys.co.uk:80/gbuk/tv-and-home-entertainment...

It states "Using an existing Samsung SmartThings Hub (sold separately), you can set your TV to turn on as you enter the room, adjust connected lights and speakers and even control other compatible smart devices."

@Tyler_Durden, did Currys ever actually say that the SmartThings Extend USB adaptor would be provided? That’s what you need to find in their advertising or product description. What Currys are describing in the quote you provided is the separate SmartThings hub which you can buy for £100.

I have a Samsung tv that I bought from curry’s about 5 years back that has the cover and no longer works. Was curious to know how the cover would work. If it’s repairable, would it just be repaired? If it’s doomed, would a full refund be issued, or a replacement tv?

Thanks

Not that I can see on that page, but their Knowhow page says

"Samsung’s 2016 SUHD TVs have a built-in SmartThings hub, which is normally bought separately...........................................................................

How to get SmartThings on your TV

You need a new 2016 Samsung SUHD Smart TV, and a SmartThings Extend – a small, USB-like dongle that plugs into your TV. The Extend dongle is provided free with your new TV. "

Yes they did but it was on their knowhow page. The links are in the ks refund more info page.

I've also found this archive from the actual Currys site which may help some.

https://web.archive.org/web/20160820002101/http://www.currys.co.uk:80/gbuk/samsung-tv-technology-188...

"Create the perfect entertainment experience by turning your TV into the brain of your smart home with Samsung SmartThings Extend*. Smart home connectivity from the comfort of your sofa.

“*Free Samsung SmartThings Extend USB adapter available within 2016"
