Issues with UE55D8000 tv

Havine some issues with the apps on the Samsung Ue55d8000, neither iplayer or itv hub will work and am unable to get any streaming app on the app store, such as smart iptv, Netflix. I have another Samsung tv ( a later model (2014) ) that has all the up to date apps, isit just because the tele is old ? Are they any updates that will help ?

Will Netflix work on ue55d8000 once the 1033.2 firmware is updated via a USB (won't find update online search) ?
