How do I get a standard channel list on my QLED Smart TV? (Like you get on Freeview)

I bought my first ever Smart TV, a Samsung QLED, beginning to think it was a mistake because the guy in Richer Sounds told me it had exactly the same channels as freeview! However, The only way I seem to be able to watch standard channels like BBC, ITV etc is to go to the individual apps which is really annoying and time consuming. The only channels on Samsung TV are ones I have never heard of. Was the guy from Richer Sounds talking nonsense or is there a way to get a standard channel list? Do I now have to buy a Freeview box?

Really appreciate your help, feeling totally underwhelmed by smart tv and wish I's stuck with my prvious Samsung.

Thanks

Hi @Portugal1000 Freeview is built in and you will ne able to access these channels as long as you have got a connected working aerial.https://www.freeview.co.uk/app/uploads/2013/03/FREEVIEW_Value_Aerials.pdf  you  should have the latst firmware on a new TV  but check  on Samsung Support  Have you actually scanned for the channels Home > Settings > Broadcasting > Auto Tuning?  If so  and no joy though you could firstly try a factory reset as that  can solve some issues.  https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/tv-audio-video/how-do-i-perform-a-factory-reset-on-my-samsung-tv/

Whilst should work, sometimes you may need to scan manually  Broadcasting > Expert Settings > Manual Tuning    Some information about Manual Tuning here https://www.bbc.co.uk/reception/television/manual_retune

The channels you currently have must be the Tv Plus ones which work via the Internet  Tv Plus

I do not work for Samsung or make Samsung Products but provide independent advice and valuable contributions.
