Hi Samsung community,
My equipment is: Samsung TV UE55MU7005 UHD HDR; Soundbar LG SJ9; Barebone Zotac i5-7200u.
I changed yesterday my entertainment system configuration from PC -> Soundbar -> TV, to PC & Soundbar -> TV
I did that because I am facing issues to get HDR working on Windows. I didn´t solve the issue but doing that new configuration I am losing ATMOS capability (TrueHD and over DD+).
I found that if try to play a title on my PC with:
- TrueHD Dolby Atmos (ex.Leaf (Lossless-ATMOS)😞 I get no sound.
- Dolby Digital Plus Dolby Atmos (ex. Nature's Fury (Dolby Digital Plus ATMOS)): I get Dolby Atmos stream detected on my soundbar, it starts to play it but after few seconds it becomes choppy and finally it brokes.
Sound Samples are in here:
https://thedigitaltheater.com/index.php/dolby-trailers/
I assume this is because of ARC bandwith limitations but:
How LG & Visio solved this issue (DD+ Atmos) and Samsung is not?
Will we ever get some firmware update to solve this DD+ Atmos issue?
What about a firmware upgrade for eARC (to get TrueHD Atmos support)?
Any feedback from Samsung customer support will be great...
I really hate not being able to get UHD HDR 10bits and Dolby ATMOS at same time... even my whole equipment is supporting both technologies!!

Come on Official @Samsung support, no feedback?
Community, do you know if they usually reply over here or should I open an official Ticket/RMA or whatever?

Let me share with you what I found this weekend regarding Atmos!
Remember, my equipment is a Samsung MU7000 series + LG SJ9 Atmos Soundbar.
I made a great discover this weekend when I played Jack Ryan, from Amazon Video APP. It was played in 4K HDR, nothing new in here, some Shows are already supporting this, but I was greatly surprised when my LG SJ9 Soundbar changed to Dolby Atmos input!
Seems that finally, someone (Amazon) found a way to send lossy Dolby Atmos (DD+) through HDMI ARC in ours Samsung SmartTVs... even when Samsung Support told me several times that this would not be possible...!!! 🙂
Btw, I have latest firmware (1240.7) on my MU7000.
Can you please confirm if it is working also for you guys?
I hope that Amazon will be the next one implementing this!

Yes, I know that this wasnt an issue with other TVs (Hisense, LG, Sony) + Atmos soundbars, the issue was with Samsung (as reported by some users and their support team directly). Issue seems to be fixed at this point with Amazon Video APP. Not yet fixed on Netflix APP btw.
