What is the difference between these two modes?

Samsung's MU 2017 models have the HDR+ mode in the picture settings menu whereas the NU 2018 models (most of them) doesn't.

Thanks espenT

I had foolishly thought that HLG was a minor format only supported by LG television sets and ignored it

I now see that it's Hybrid Log Gamma  HDR and quite significant as it's used by the BBC to provide a format which will display optimally on most brand s of both SDR-only and HDR enabled television.
Thanks for putting me right!

HDR+ is a version of HDR.
HLG, HDR+ and DV are all enhanced versions of HDR.

The current basic version of HDR is HDR10.
Some people use the generic term HDR when they really mean the specific, basic version called HDR10. I.e. the un-enhanced version of HDR.

AFAIK!
